  • Neutral facial expression with your mouth closed.
  • Hair cannot cover any part of the face.
  • Eyes open and no red-eye.
  • Glasses are ok to wear as long as your eyes are clearly visible through the lenses. No reflection off the glasses. The frames shouldn’t block your eyes in any way. Thin frames are preferred.
  • The photo background should be plain and white.
  • Head coverings for religious purposes are allowed. The face must still be visible from the top of the forehead to the chin.
  • If you provide us with a printed photo, it should be in good condition without any creases or marks.

If you are applying through Russian Visa Center in the U.S., you have three options:

  • Come to one or our offices to have your photo taken.
  • Email us your photo.
  • Or have your photo taken at a place that does U.S. passport size photos.

You are welcome at any of our locations where we can take your photo for free.

If you email us a photo, please make sure that it follows the consulate requirements. We can crop, edit, and print out your photo for free.

If you mail us a printed passport size photo, it should be free of any creasing or marks.
